Somewhat sad isn't it in appearance. I think what's more pertinent is that we don't have to know that this young man is a member of the family in front or not. As many people who capture life on the street will know that "you don't have to be part of" to experience the effect of. It's a good image Aaron though I think to equate the segregated and sad impression the tilt might have been a stronger influence if the young man was walking upwards behind the three in front? Just sharing some subjective speculation.
